Description
The DWM 1914 Navy Luger is one of the most desirable Imperial German service pistols ever produced. This example is dated 1917 over the chamber and features the iconic DWM script on the front toggle link. Built for naval issue, the 6-inch barrel and two-position rear sight distinguish the Navy variant from standard Army models, making it highly collectible among World War I enthusiasts.
This pistol retains matching numbers throughout, with the exception of the magazine. The barrel is a replacement but has been professionally numbered to match the pistol. Crown “M” naval proofs are present on the left side of the receiver, and the pistol features the large flange toggle pin along with beautifully strawed small parts—hallmarks of Imperial-era craftsmanship. The two-piece checkered wood grips show honest wear consistent with age.
Condition is strong overall. The pistol retains the vast majority of its aftermarket-applied finish, the bore is bright and shiny with sharp lands and grooves, and the mechanics appear well preserved. As a Curio & Relic eligible firearm, this 1914 Navy Luger represents both a historic investment piece and a tangible connection to early 20th-century military history.
