I don't have much to compare this to as it was purchased to replace an unfired Ruger AR-556 and I have only shot a couple other AR pattern rifles in the past 5 years. Gunprime shipped the rifle fast and it was immediately cleaned and lubed upon receipt.
With only 60 rds through it now, all I can say is that it works great with 62gr Winchester and Blackhawk mags.
Recoil is manageable, even for the missus, and the H buffer probably helps somewhat with that. I've never thought this round hit too hard but this particular rifle seems to come off target only a little bit at 25 yds and can be fired accurately almost as quickly as I can pull the trigger.
The handguard is easy to hold for both of us but the length of pull is a little short for me, though perfect for her, (6'1" v 5'8") even at full extension. Someone with more knowledge on the subject than I have told me that is done so the rifle fits when you've got *gear* on so it may not matter for those folks.
It hits what you point it at and goes bang every time, it's lightweight and has options to add plenty of shit to blow your budget quickly if the rifle hasn't already. At 850, this was an easy choice to make; with flip up sights I don't have to worry about an optic right away and the rifle is ready to run out of the box (minus that whole storage oil goop -cosmoline?- that should be removed asap).
Buy it. You're wife will love it, too.
