The Smith & Wesson Model 657-4 Mountain Gun is a purpose-built N-frame revolver designed to deliver serious magnum performance in a lighter, more packable format. Chambered in the underrated but highly respected .41 Magnum, this revolver strikes an excellent balance between power, shootability, and controllability for field use.
This Mountain Gun configuration features a 4-inch barrel with a tapered profile, reducing weight compared to standard heavy-barrel N-frames while still maintaining excellent accuracy. The stainless steel construction offers durability and corrosion resistance, making it well-suited for outdoor carry. Fitted with rubber finger-groove grips, this example is comfortable to shoot and easy to manage under recoil.
